Home Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a health care profession that is concerned with restoring useful physical functionality following disabling accidents and sickness.  The goal of occupational therapy is to assist the patient in achieving the maximum level of independent function.

  • Restoration of function following a disability
  • Learn to apply the newly restored function to meet the demands of daily living.
  • Pacing, working simplification skill training, body mechanics education
  • Adaptive equipment and compensatory training
  • Exericises to improve range of motion, strength, endurance, coordination, sensation

Occupational Therapy Program for Cardiopulmonary Monitoring

For patients utilizing our Cardiopulmonary Home Care Program, Occupational Therapy Services may include:

  • Education in the principles and application of energy conservation techniques
  • Maximize independence with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) with or without the use of adaptive equiptment
  • Instruction in the use of adaptive equiptment
  • Teach proper breathing techniques with application to ADLs
  • Instruction on how to control shortness of breath during ADLs
  • Activity configuration for planning daily activities to provide a balance of work, play and rest
  • Instruction in exercises that incorporate and reinforce proper breathing patterns

Home Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy Services are provided by a licensed therapist or licensed therapy assistant under the direction of the therapist. Your therapist will provide specific information about the services and treatments you will receive.

Speech Pathologist

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the physician in evaluating the patient to determine the type of speech or language disorder and the appropriate corrective therapy.
  • Instruct and supervise other health team personnel, patient and family members in methods of assisting the patient to improve and correct speech disabilities.
  • Implements infection control and safety measure in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
